When you create an account on an IDEA curriculum, we request that you use a valid e-mail address that you can receive e-mails at. To verify that this is the case, we send two separate e-mails to the provided e-mail address:
the first e-mail will come from support@idea.medicine.uw.edu, and it will contain a numeric code that you can enter on the curriculum website. This code is valid for 24 hours, but we expect you to enter it promptly after registration.
the second e-mail will come from support@hiv.uw.edu, support@std.uw.edu, or support@hepatitisc.uw.edu (depending on which site you use to create your account) and will contain a LINK that will allow you to validate ownership of the e-mail address. This link does not expire.
Why Verify?
Enables Automatic Password Resets
Verifying your e-mail address will allow you to use the automatic password reset functionality on the curriculum website.Required for Group Management
A verified e-mail address is required for any member of a Learning Group that is on the group's Management Team (owner, manager, or evaluator).
What happens if I don't verify my e-mail address?
You will not be able to interact with any group management features, and
You will have to contact our support team if you forget your password. Just click on the chat icon (blue circle/white square) on the lower right of your screen to contact us.
